Stone Statue

Stone statue stood

In the middle of the park

Hands out welcoming

All who came

Stone benches

Surrounded the statue

People often sit

Ate, read, talked

Birds came

Kept the statue company

Rested on her arms and head

Sang, talked among themselves

Stone statue

Which stood in the middle of the park

Hands out welcoming

All who came

Permanent Residence

The cemetery was full

Of people who passed on

Tombstone gave names

Birth, death, relationships

Remembrance is left

Upon the tombstone

A stone

To show that

Someone visited

Erosion made names

Dates, vanish

As years go by

Visitors die

No one to stop by

The grave

The grave site

Was replaced with

A new residence

The cemetery was full

Of people who passed on

Many long forgotten
