Strange Tidal Anomaly

Frank sits in a rusting bench on a pier

It’s late but the Moon is still up

Shines down on him and the water,

He is caught up with the idea that it’s not the mass of the satellite the changes the tide,

But the actual moonlight itself

Attributing more magic to it perhaps, than it already has

This would mean on nights when there was no light, there

Would be no change

He realizes the folly of this at last

He feels the moon change him

Inside all the time.
